Everyone at Roe Green Infant School knows that one of the main priorities for parents is their child’s educational well-being. Your continued role in helping your child with their knowledge and understanding of all aspects of reading, writing and mathematics is very important and we value the support that you give.

With your child having just moved into a new year group, the learning in these areas can be complex. Over the next few weeks (start of the new term), we will therefore be holding workshops.

 

The workshops will be on Phonics, Reading (including guided reading and comprehension), Mathematics and Writing (including spelling, punctuation, grammar and handwriting) for parents with children in Year 1 and Year 2. At each workshop sessions, we will explain the different approaches used in the teaching of these subjects.
